The Copper River Watershed Project is seeking volunteers to help with a multi-day fishing web recycling event and BBQ fundraiser, sponsored by the Alaska Commercial Company.

Nets will be collected from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, Wednesday, June 9, and Friday, June 11; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12.

There will also be a barbecue fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 9 to help CRWP pay for staff time and shipping the nets to a recycling facility.

Fishing web recycling work consists of prepping nets for recycling in 4-hour shifts.

Barbecue fundraiser duties will include set-up, tear-down, taking orders and prepping food in three-hour shifts.

To volunteer, fill out CRWP’s Google Form. Partial-shift volunteers also appreciated. For more info, contact recycling coordinator Shae Bowman at shae@copperriver.org or call 907-424-3334.
