Artist Workshop

Homer artist Sharlene Cline will conduct a “hands on” Chinese brushwork painting workshop suitable for ages 12 and up from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, June 5 in the Education room of the Cordova Center. National Trails Day

Join the Forest Rangers and Ruby Red Salmon for a morning adventure hike at 10 a.m. or an afternoon hike at 2 p.m. at Haystack Trail on June 5 at Mile 19, Copper River Highway. Discover clues along the trail with the mobile game Agents of Discovery. Pack a bag, download the app and meet at the trailhead. For more information, call 907-424-7661.

Summer Potluck

The community is invited to join the Cordova Community Baptist Church at the Homeport following worship at noon Sunday, June 6 for a potluck to meet CCBC’s summer youth camp leader Matt Arends.

Bidarki Adult Volleyball

Spirit of the Copper River

Works by Homer Artist Charlene Cline will be on display from June 4-July 3 at the Copper River Gallery. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

Local Recycling

Fishing web, free of cork and lead line, can be dropped off in the fishing web recycling container at the Cordova City Baler. Lead acid battery recycling is located behind the NVE building on Nicholoff Way. Small batteries can be recycled at the Post Office. The City of Cordova recycles paper/cardboard, aluminum cans and glass at the lot behind AC. Join the Recycling Action Team by calling Shae Bowman at 907-424-3334 or emailing shae@copperriver.org.

Live Gospel Music

Food Drive

Help Cordovans in need by donating your canned goods, non-perishable, and frozen items. The Native Village of Eyak is a food pantry for the Food Bank of Alaska at 110 Nicholoff Way. Call them at 907-424-7738 in the case of food emergencies. The Salvation Army has reopened their food bank at 514 1st St. on Main Street. Call Pastor Steve at 907-429-6262 to donate or receive food.

COVID-19 Vaccine Sign-Up

All Cordovans who want to receive the COVID-19 vaccine are asked to register at CDVCMC.com or call 907-424-3045. If registered, you will receive a call to set up an appointment as soon as you are eligible, and the vaccine is available.
