The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 05-14-21 thru 05-20-21. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday, May 14:

12:36 a.m. The hospital requested an officer to transport an individual. 12:52 a.m. An individual was placed in protective custody for their safety. 2:48 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 3:00 p.m. A caller inquired information regarding auction vehicles. 3:12 p.m. A caller inquired information regarding an ongoing investigation. 3:43 p.m. A business reported of having their sewer line impacted by a construction company. The Water and Sewer Department was notified. 10:32 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle parked between his property and Lake Ave and wanted to have the vehicle removed. A person was found to remove the vehicle.

Saturday, May 15:

4:16 a.m. A caller reported made a noise complaint for a barking dog on seventh street, an officer responded, located the dog, and transported it to the pound. 7:24 a.m. An officer spoke with an individual at the station regarding a previous incident. 1:02 p.m. An officer provided security for the 13-mile airport. 1:15 A caller requested a welfare check on an individual, an officer located the individual and transported them to the hospital. 5:33 p.m. A caller reported an individual laying on the ground by the post office, an officer and EMS responded and transported the individual to the hospital.

Sunday, May 16:

5:22 p.m. An officer conducted a security check of the new harbor. 7:23 p.m. An officer conducted a foot patrol on Main Street. 7:34 p.m. An officer conducted a security check of the old harbor. 9:04 p.m. An officer conducted a foot patrol of Chase Ave. 10:14 p.m. An officer conducted a security check of the post office. 10:38 An officer conducted a bar check.

Monday, May 17:

An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport. 12:42 a.m. An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the high school. 5:51 a.m. The hospital requested an officer to assist with an aggressive patient, an officer responded and assisted. 1:04 p.m. A caller requested an ambulance for an individual who had fallen and had hip issues, the ambulance responded and did a check up on the patient. 1:39 p.m. An officer provided security for the 13-mile airport. 2:06 p.m. A caller reported a man unconscious out on the mud flats, an officer responded, and the individual was placed in a holding cell for his safety. 9:58 p.m. An officer conducted a security check of the new harbor. 10:31 p.m. An officer conducted a bar check.

Tuesday, May 18:

12:19 a.m. A caller reported a vehicle had backed into the ditch by the Powder House, an officer responded to the scene and arrested Frederick Newirth, age 37, of Cordova Alaska for driving under the influence. 12:45 p.m. An officer provided security for the 13-mile airport. 3:26 p.m. A caller requested an ambulance for an individual, the ambulance responded and transported the patient to the hospital. 9:57 p.m. A caller reported a noise complaint on Davis street, an officer responded and spoke with the individuals. 10:19 p.m. An officer conducted a bar check. 11:06 p.m. A caller reported a noise complaint on Davis Street, an officer responded and gave a disorderly conduct warning to all parties.11:11 p.m. An officer provided transportation for two individuals to the hospital.

Wednesday, May 19:

An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport. 3:11 a.m. A caller reported he had hit his head and was having trouble remembering anything, an officer responded and transported the caller to the hospital. 1:52 p.m. A caller requested to speak with an officer. An officer was notified and assisted the caller. 1:55 p.m. A caller reported alcohol withdrawals and requested for an ambulance. The ambulance responded and transported the individual to the hospital.

Thursday, May 20:

2:48 a.m. An officer conducted a security check of the Post Office. 9:20 a.m. The hospital requested an officer to transport an individual to the airport. An officer was notified and conducted the transport. 1:08 p.m. Alaska Wildlife Troopers arrested Ray Krueger, age 47, of Wasilla AK on an outstanding failure to appear warrant. Krueger posted bail and was released.

DMV HOURS:

From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday unless otherwise posted. The DMV is located at 602 Railroad Ave. Payments accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
