NPRB seeks research recommendations

Officials with the North Pacific Research Board in Anchorage are seeking research ideas from both researchers and the public for consideration in the organization’s 2022 core program due out in October.

The deadline to comment is July 2.

These ideas will be considered by the NPRB science panel, advisory panel and board to highlight areas of particular interest. Public input is welcome throughout the year via

All suggestions should be brief and easily converted to a bulleted format.

NPRB supports a competitive, peer-reviewed annual request for proposal process focused on marine research in Alaskan waters. The core program request for proposals is structured to address both pressing fishery management issues and important ecosystem information needs as prioritized by its science plan.

Proposals are geographically centered in the Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands and Arctic Ocean ecosystems.
