Law & Order: July 2-11

The following is a summary of incidents that occurred or were reported to the Cordova Police Department July 2-11, 2021. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday, July 2

8:18 a.m. CCMC called Dispatch requesting a medical transport from the 13-Mile Airport to CCMC. EMT responded.

11:47 p.m. An Officer responded to a bear complaint in Heney Trailer Court.

Saturday, July 3

1:32 a.m. An Officer responded to a noise complaint on Chase Avenue.

3:01 a.m. Dispatch received an ATM Heat Alarm notification call for Wells Fargo. An Officer responded. Dispatch called the responsible party.

An Officer conducted a security check at the New Harbor.

4:20 p.m. An Officer issued a warning to motorist for no turn signal and no brake lights.

4:52 p.m. An Officer issued a Citation on a vehicle at the 13-Mile Airport.

6:13PM An Officer removed Electronic Monitoring device from individual no longer on house arrest.

8:21 p.m. An Officer, Forest Service Trooper, and EMS responded to a 911 call on Whitshed Rd. Patient transported to CCMC.

10 p.m. Caller requested the use of DMV orange street cones for July Fourth celebration. Dispatch approved the request.

Sunday, July 4

8:45 p.m. An Officer responded to a complaint of an inebriated male outside a local business. The Officer provided safe transportation for the individual to his residence.

Monday, July 5

12:20 a.m. Dispatch received a call requesting assistance to fishermen out on the ocean with anchor down and no fuel. Dispatch contacted Coast Guard Sector Anchorage, on-duty Officer and Alaska State Trooper.

12:31 a.m. An Officer issued a Citation to motorist for no insurance.

An Officer conducted security check at 13-mile Airport. Secured door(s).

1:56 a.m. An Officer issued a warning to motorist for no proof of insurance.

2:06 a.m. An Officer issued a warning to motorist for expired registration and insurance.

7:04 p.m. An Officer responded to a complaint of a vehicle on Copper River Highway passing at 4-mile unable to maintain lane. Caller reported vehicle going about 75 mph.

Tuesday, July 6

9:55 a.m. Caller reported receiving a possible fraudulent call from a local number stating calling from Amazon.

11:05 a.m. Cordova Dispatch assisted AWT by providing registration information on an Alaska Plate.

12:35 p.m. Chugach National Forest Dispatch Center asked for assistance from Cordova Dispatch Center in the event of an emergency due to many field folks out in the Cordova area.

Wednesday, July 7

An Officer conducted a security check at the Old Harbor.

10:59 a.m. A caller reported a driver passed out in vehicle with vehicle still running. An Officer responded.

Thursday, July 8

10:47 a.m. An Officer assisted a motorist by providing a jumpstart.

7:12 p.m. Dispatch received a call from Laura’s Liquor Shoppe reporting an intoxicated individual. An Officer responded and provided the individual safe transportation to the Prince William Motel.

Friday, July 9

10:36 a.m. An Officer issued a warning to motorist for failure to stop at stop sign.

An Officer conducted a security check at Anchor Bar.

Saturday, July 10

9:46 a.m. Dispatch received notice of an audible commercial alarm for Ocean Beauty coming from the bunk house. This was a false alarm.

10:26 a.m. Dispatch received a report a bear had eaten chickens earlier that morning at 3 a.m.

10:44 a.m. Dispatch received a report of a dog killed on Whitshed Road.

12:27 p.m. An Officer issued a warning to motorist for failure to stop at a stop sign.

6:09 p.m. An Officer responded to a complaint received from Copper River Seafoods of an intoxicated individual. The individual was placed into custody under Title 47.

7:01 p.m. EMS responded to a call from CCMC to medevac a COVID-positive patient.

Sunday, July 11

Nothing to report.
