NPRB seeks to fill advisory panel seats

Candidates are still being sought to fill two vacant seats on the Advisory Panel of the North Pacific Research Board, one representing the Bering Sea and one for the Aleutian Islands. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, Aug. 10.

Appointments are to be made by the NPRB at its September meeting and begin their three-year term in April 2022.

Nominations and self-nominations should be emailed to kayla.wagenfehr@nprb.org.

They should include a brief resume and full contact information, NPRB officials said. Up to three letters of reference are optional, they said.

The Advisory Panels represent stakeholders, user groups and other interested parties from regions within the board’s purview, which also include the Arctic, and one at-large seat.

Advisory Panel members advise the NPRB on how to accomplish its overall mission of fielding a high caliber, comprehensive research program to better understand the ecosystems and fisheries of these regions, and to help to sustain and enhance marine resources.
