What year was the business founded and why did you start the business?
Edward Jones was founded in 1922, and my branch office in Cordova opened in February 2021. I had been a client of Edward Jones for 14 years and saw firsthand the culture, the people, and the client-centered focus that are the hallmark of the firm. I felt compelled to join Edward Jones as a financial advisor so that I could make a meaningful difference in the lives of Cordova citizens.
How has the business changed over the years?
The only constant in the financial services industry is change – from market fluctuations to changing technology to investor’s expectations. What doesn’t change, however, is our commitment to helping our clients achieve their financial goals.
What are some new items or offerings you’re excited about?
Recent research by Edward Jones and Age Wave, The Four Pillars of the New Retirement, demonstrates how the majority of people are thinking about retirement as “a whole new chapter in my life” with new choices and new freedoms, and how four essential “pillars” can impact your quality of life once you retire. Based on these four pillars, I can consider financial strategies for my clients more holistically to help prepare for a truly fulfilling retirement.
How does your business impact the community of Cordova?
Having an Edward Jones office in Cordova brings the resources of a major financial services firm – a Fortune 500 company – right to our doorstep. Our personal service and financial guidance can make a meaningful difference in the lives of many in our community. Additionally, Edward Jones partners with the Alzheimer’s Association in the fight to end Alzheimer’s, a disease that both nationally and here in Cordova robs people of their health, relationships and financial wellbeing – all the things we work to help protect and preserve at Edward Jones.
