The following is a summary of incidents that occurred or were reported to the Cordova Police Department Oct 18-31. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, Oct. 18

8:48 a.m. An Officer responded to a bear complaint in front of Harborside Pizza.

10:26 a.m. An individual came to the station requesting to speak with an Officer. An Officer responded.

10:55 a.m. An individual called the station requesting to speak with an Officer. An Officer responded.

11:32 a.m. An individual called the station requesting to speak with an Officer. An Officer responded.

11:57 a.m. An individual called the station requesting to speak with an Officer. An Officer responded.

12:05 p.m. An Officer responded to a report of a truck pulling juveniles on roller blades near the Cordova Jr/Sr High School.

12:42 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

4:54 p.m. An individual came to the station requesting to speak with an Officer. An Officer responded.

10:43 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

Tuesday, Oct. 19

7:09 a.m. A caller reported having just scared a bear away at Sunset View Apartments.

8:35 a.m. An Officer responded to a bear complaint in front of Harborside Pizza.

12:34 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flight 61 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

2:04 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flight 66 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

3:02 p.m. An Officer responded to a call from State of Alaska’s Office of Children’s Services.

4:43 p.m. An individual called the station requesting to speak with an Officer. An Officer responded.

11:55 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

Wednesday, Oct. 20

7:50 a.m. Dispatch received a report of a motorist driving with interior lights on heading out the road.

8:45 a.m. An individual called the station requesting to speak with an Officer. An Officer responded.

9:00 a.m. An individual called the station requesting to speak with an Officer. An Officer responded.

12:26 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

1:32 p.m. A citizen contacted the station regarding dropping off old ammunition for disposal.

5:20 p.m. A citizen came to the station to be fingerprinted.

6:00 p.m. A citizen came to the station to be fingerprinted.

6:29 p.m. An Officer and the Emergency Medical Services team responded to a 911 call at Sunset View Apartments. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.

7:18 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a 911 call at Lake Avenue Apartments. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.

9:29 p.m. An Officer responded to a bear complaint by Kayak Cafe.

Thursday, Oct. 21

12:52 a.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

9:43 a.m. A resident called the station requesting to speak with an Officer.

10:35 a.m. A resident came to the station to bring in old ammunition for disposal.

12:43 p.m. Dispatch received a parking violation complaint.

12:53 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

9:08 p.m. An Officer issued a warning to a motorist.

10:51 p.m. An Officer reported location to Dispatch as Ferry Terminal picking up (2) propane tanks on the side of the road.

11:03 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at Mt. Eccles Elementary School. The back gate was found open. The Officer secured the area.

11:14 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

Friday, Oct. 22

12:32 a.m. An Officer issued a warning to a motorist at Spruce and Lake Avenues.

12:51 a.m. An Officer issued a citation to a motorist at Whitshed Road and Copper River Highway.

4:50 a.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the United States Postal Service building.

4:51 a.m. An Officer reported location to Dispatch as picking up trash at Odiak Apartments.

9:01 a.m. An Officer responded to a Welfare Check request.

9:57 a.m. A resident came to the station to meet with an Officer.

10:17 a.m. A resident called Dispatch requesting to speak with an Officer.

1:57 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

6:26 p.m. An Officer served court documents.

10:23 p.m. An Officer reported location to Dispatch as Mile 1 Power Creek Road. The Officer reported sighting a vehicle off the road. 10:32 p.m. The Officer contacted Dispatch requesting the City Shop to respond. 11:06 p.m. A City Shop employee responded to determine what will be needed to pull the vehicle out.

Saturday, Oct. 23

12:39 a.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

1:45 a.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

8:13 a.m. Dispatch received a report of a motor vehicle accident on Power Creek Road.

8:40 a.m. An Officer responded to a bear complaint at Spruce Grove Trailer Court.

9:32 a.m. Dispatch received a 911 report of a vehicle off the road at Power Creek.

9:51 a.m. A citizen called the station requesting to speak with an Officer.

10:38 a.m. The City Shop responded to pull vehicle found at Mile 1 Power Creek Road. The vehicle was impounded.

10:53 a.m. A resident called the station requesting to speak with an Officer.

12:01 p.m. A resident called the station requesting to speak with an Officer.

12:30 p.m. A resident called the station requesting to speak with an Officer.

2:08 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

3:10 p.m. An individual who left keys in vehicle came to station requesting lockout kit.

7:29 p.m. An Officer issued a warning to a motorist at LeFevre and Copper River Highway.

7:55 p.m. An Officer reported location to Dispatch as Center Drive checking for bears in the dumpster.

8:16 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

11:39 p.m. An Officer conducted a traffic stop. 11:54 p.m. The Officer contacted Dispatch requesting the City Shop to respond for an impound.

Sunday, Oct. 24

12:05 a.m. Amy Brockert, age 54, of Cordova, Alaska, was arrested for Driving While Revoked.

12:54 a.m. An Officer reported located to Dispatch as Second Street “checking out something weird in the middle of the road.” 12:55 a.m. The Officer reported discovering the remains of a statistically inferred extinct dinosaur… toy.

1:08 a.m. An Officer and the Emergency Medical Services team responded to a 911 call at Sunset View Apartments. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.

12:34 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flight 61 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

1:58 p.m. An Officer responded to a barking dog noise complaint on Spruce Street.

2:03 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flight 66 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

3:18 p.m. An Officer issued a citation at the pavilion on Copper River Highway.

10:45 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

Monday, Oct. 25

1:19 a.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

1:21 p.m. Two Officers conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

5:01 p.m. A citizen came to the station to be fingerprinted.

7:38 p.m. An Officer issued a civil non-expiring trespass on an individual, per request of property owner.

9:12 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

10:04 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

11:53 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

Tuesday, Oct. 26

12:01 a.m. (continued from 11:53 p.m.) The Officer contacted Dispatch requesting the responsible party to respond to secure the gate. The location was secured.

7:04 a.m. An Officer, the Fire Marshal, the Volunteer Fire Department, and the Emergency Medical Services team responded to a 911 call on Cedar Street. There was no patient transport.

2:14 p.m. An Officer reported location to Dispatch as the Shooting Range taking Qualifying Exam.

2:55 p.m. An Officer reported location to Dispatch as the Shooting Range taking Qualifying Exam.

3:07 p.m. An Officer reported a wounded Crane on Copper River Highway at turnoff to shooting range. 3:13 p.m. Dispatch advised the Forest Service.

3:10 p.m. An Officer reported location to Dispatch as the Shooting Range taking Qualifying Exam.

7:55 p.m. An Officer reported location to Dispatch as 13-Mile Airport.

8:52 p.m. An Officer reported location to Dispatch as Forest Service Road.

9:07 p.m. An Officer reported location to Dispatch as the end of Alaganik.

10:01 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

11:25 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

Wednesday, Oct. 27

2:56 a.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the United States Postal Service building.

5:02 a.m. Dispatch received a bear complaint at Sunset View Apartments.

7:44 a.m. Dispatch received a report of alleged Vandalism.

1:34 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

2:42 p.m. A resident called the station to speak with an Officer.

9:48 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

10:08 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

10:50 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

Thursday, Oct. 28

12:21 p.m. A citizen contacted Dispatch regarding a missing car.

12:53 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

3:33 p.m. An Officer responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch.

3:42 p.m. An Officer responded to a 911 call. 4:13 The Officer reported the individual was fine.

10:04 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

10:25 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

11:17 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

Friday, Oct. 29

8:11 a.m. Dispatch received a report of Davis Avenue being very slippery. Dispatch contacted the City Shop.

12:39 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

7:03 p.m. An Officer reported location to Dispatch as Railroad and Breakwater Avenues, “picking up trash.”

7:17 p.m. An Officer reported to Dispatch stopping to speak to an individual walking in the middle of the road. The Officer advised the individual not to walk in the middle of the road. The individual stated one must walk in the middle of the road because the City won’t plow the sidewalks.

7:22 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

10:34 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the  Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

11:15 p.m. An Officer responded to a request for Officer assistance at caller’s residence.

Saturday, Oct. 30

12:33 a.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

1:02 a.m. An Officer responded to a 911 report of an alleged intoxicated driver.

1:26 a.m. Charlie Hodsdon, age 22, of Cordova, Alaska, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

6:29 a.m. The Volunteer Fire Department and the Emergency Medical Services team responded to a 911 call at 5 Mile Loop Road. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.

3:37 p.m. An Officer and an employee from the City Shop responded to a report of a tree down on Saddle Point Drive.

4:34 p.m. An Officer reported location to Dispatch as patrolling down Power Creek to see if any vehicles are in the lake.

4:38 p.m. A resident notified Dispatch of a controlled burn.

10:49 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.

11:59 p.m. An Officer responded to a Welfare Check request.

Sunday, Oct. 31

1:52 a.m. An Officer conducted a security check at a local establishment. 1:54 a.m. The Officer provided safe transportation to a patron’s place of residence. 2:05 a.m. The Officer requested Dispatch to contact the Emergency Medical Services team for assistance. The Emergency Medical Services team responded. The patient was assisted. No patient was transported.

2:45 a.m. An Officer responded to a Commercial Fire Alarm at Trident Seafoods North. This was a false alarm.

11:33 a.m. Dispatch received a commercial High-Water alarm from a vessel on H-Float. The responsible part was contacted.

4:08 p.m. An Officer responded to a report of an alleged intruder on First Street. The Officer found no intruder on the premises.

10:09 p.m. An Officer responded to a Welfare Check request at Alaganik Slough boat dock.
