Winter Gear Swap

The Powder House is hosting their annual winter gear swap starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27. Free table space, markers and masking tape provided. Barter, swap or sell your old winter gear. The Cordova Museum is preparing for their annual Holiday Art Show. Drop off art submissions in the theme of “Sheridan Glacier” by Tuesday, Nov. 30. Show will open Dec. 3 and will remain up through Jan. 29. For more info, call 907-424-6665.

The Catch

The Catch, Cordova’s emerging literary and arts publication, is accepting submissions for its winter issue until Dec. 15. The theme is “tracks.” Submissions are open to all ages and may be made in any medium. Contact jillian.cordovapubliclibrary@gmail.com.

Christmas ornament auction

CCMC’s Hospital Auxiliary Christmas Ornament Auction is open for bidding until 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17. Visit https://tinyurl.com/auxauction, click on the photo of the ornament you like and comment your bid. Ornaments are hanging in the front lobby window at CCMC’s pharmacy entrance for your viewing pleasure.

Pajama Read Along

Cordova Public Library’s Pajama Read Along takes place 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays on Instagram at cordovapubliclibraryreads.

Morning music

Join local musicians every Friday from 8 to 8:40 a.m. at Mt. Eccles Elementary School for Morning Music. The new 4H music curriculum with song videos, songbook and fiddle tab is available as a free download at www.cordovamusiccamp.org. Food Pantry

The Salvation Army food pantry is located at 514 First St. Primary distribution is the third Monday of each month from 4-6 p.m. If you need food assistance or are interested in volunteering, please contact Katherine Mead at 907-429-7177. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped in the donation box at AC Value Center.

COVID-19 Vaccine Sign-Up

All Cordovans who want to receive the COVID-19 vaccine are asked to register at CDVCMC.com or call 907-424-3045. If registered, you will receive a call to set up an appointment as soon as you are eligible, and the vaccine is available.

To schedule a free COVID test, contact Ilanka Community Health Center at 907-424-3622 or Cordova Community Medical Center at 907-424-8200. Patients are asked to bring their insurance paperwork as the clinics can get reimbursed.

Health & Hope

Ilanka Community Health Center and Sound Alternatives are working together to provide a safe place for family and friends of those dealing with addiction to get support and information each Thursday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at ICHC’s Wellness Center (across from the Episcopal Church).
