Cordova Chamber of Commerce’s Hometown Holiday Kick-off returns this year on Friday, Dec. 10.

Cordova High School Music Department will sing Christmas carols at 5:15 p.m. at the Cordova Center. Next up, Cordova Volunteer Fire Department’s Santa Parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Main Street. A live tree lighting will take place at 5:45 p.m. in front of the Cordova Center on Main Street.

Upgraded tree lights are sponsored by Ace Hardware and hung by Cordova Electric Cooperative, according to the Cordova Chamber of Commerce.

An annual Holiday Bazaar will open at 6-9 p.m. Friday in the Cordova Center, hosted by the chamber.

“Purchase one-of-a-kind gifts for friends and family; support local businesses and fundraising organizations; and Shop Cordova First at this annual artisan and vendor market,” the chamber website states.

The bazaar will continue noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 and 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17.

Cordova retailers and the chamber are again participating in Moonlight Madness with extended holiday shopping hours from 6-9 p.m. Fridays, Dec. 10 and 17.

Shoppers can also collect stamps in Shop Cordova First Passports for prizes, a program organized by the Cordova Chamber of Commerce to encourage shopping local. Every $20 spent at participating businesses counts for an entry for prizes. Entries are due Jan. 5 to the Chamber.

Shop Cordova First Passports are available at the Chamber of Commerce, Laura’s, AC Value Center, Cordova Gear and Nichol’s and at the Holiday Kick-off and Bazaar.
