Cordova’s 50th Christmas Bird Count!
Start documenting species of birds (not numbers) in preparation for Saturday’s Christmas Bird Count. Birds must be seen within the count circle which has a 7.5-mile radius and is centered on Eyak Lake Weir. Meet at the Cordova Center Education Room at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 to be assigned a route. Feeder watchers also needed. Breakfast snacks and coffee will be provided.

Christmas ornament auction
CCMC’s Hospital Auxiliary Christmas Ornament Auction is open for bidding until 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17. Visit tinyurl.com/auxauction, click on the photo of the ornament you like and comment your bid. Ornaments are hanging in the front lobby window at CCMC’s pharmacy entrance for your viewing pleasure.
Breakfast with Santa
Kids, bring your parents! The Moose Lodge is hosting their annual free Breakfast with Santa from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19. Jen Pallas will be available to take pictures.

‘Show Us Your Ice’ art show

Snowman Competition
Bring your loved ones out to build a snowman behind the Cordova Community Medical Center then take a photo and tag the hospital on Facebook or email your photo to Faith at faithwj@cdvcmc.com. One winner will be selected at the beginning of each month to receive a prize.
Pajama Read Along
Cordova Public Library’s Pajama Read Along takes place 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays on Instagram at cordovapubliclibraryreads.
Morning music
Join local musicians for Morning Music every Friday from 8-8:40 a.m. at Mt. Eccles Elementary School. The 4H music curriculum with song videos, songbook and fiddle tab is available as a free download at cordovamusiccamp.org. Cordova 4H also has ukuleles, tuners and soft padded ukulele cases available for purchase. If you’d like to borrow an instrument, contact Karen Swartzbart at 907-253-3421.

Food Pantry
The Salvation Army food pantry is located at 514 First St. Primary distribution is 4-6 p.m. the third Monday of each month. If you need food assistance or are interested in volunteering, please contact Katherine Mead at 907-429-7177. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped in the donation box at AC Value Center.
Cordova Public Library

COVID-19 Vaccine Sign-Up
Register to receive a COVID-19 at cdvcmc.com or call 907-424-3045. Registrants will receive a call to set up an appointment as soon as they are eligible, and the vaccine is available.
Local COVID-19 testing
To schedule a free COVID-19 test, contact Ilanka Community Health Center at 907-424-3622 or Cordova Community Medical Center at 907-424-8200. Patients are asked to bring insurance information so the clinics can get reimbursed.
Health & Hope
Ilanka Community Health Center and Sound Alternatives are working together to provide a safe place for family and friends of those with addiction to get support and information from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursdays at ICHC’s Wellness Center (across from the Episcopal church).
