The following is a summary of incidences that occurred or were reported to the Cordova Police Department Jan. 3 through Jan. 9, 2021. Defendant(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, January 3:

  • 10:17 a.m. An officer issued a citation on a vehicle parked in the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport parking lot. The citation with a notice of abandonment was sent to the registered owner.
  • 3:28 p.m. An officer issued a citation on a vehicle parked in the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport parking lot. The citation with a notice of abandonment was sent to the registered owner.
  • 4:02 p.m. An officer issued a citation on a vehicle parked in the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport parking lot. The citation with a notice of abandonment was sent to the registered owner.
  • 10:23 p.m. An officer brought an individual into custody under Title 47 after having been cleared by a doctor at Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 11:12 p.m. An officer responded to a 911 report of a Disturbance on Lake Avenue.

Tuesday, January 4:

  • Nothing to report.

Wednesday, January 5:

  • 9:01 a.m. An officer issued a citation on a vehicle parked in the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport parking lot. The citation with a notice of abandonment was sent to the registered owner.
  • 10:09 a.m. An officer responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident.
  • 10:12 a.m. An officer responded to a report of a missing juvenile. The individual was located and returned safely home.
  • 11:46 a.m. An officer responded to a report of an assault with a weapon.
  • 2:21 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a vehicle in distress blocking traffic.
  • 2:43 p.m. An officer responded to a call at the Cordova Jr./Sr. High School.

Thursday, January 6:

  • 12:00 a.m. An officer responded to a report of trespassing and illegal dumping at the Coast Guard Air Station.
  • 7:32 p.m. An officer responded to a welfare check request.

Friday, January 7:

  • 8:56 a.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a call on Fifth Street. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 2:13 p.m. Jeremy Whitcomb, 26, of Cordova, Alaska, was arrested for Assault in the Third Degree and Misconduct with a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.

Saturday, January 8:

  • 1:48 p.m. Dispatch received a report of an alleged theft.
  • 3:03 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a vehicle pulling children on a sled on Power Creek Road.

Sunday, January 9:

  • 2:57 p.m. An officer and The City Streets Department responded to a request for traffic control on Olsen Drive.
  • 3:06 p.m. The City Streets Department responded to a request for winter road maintenance at Mile 6 Copper River Highway.
  • 5:11 p.m. An officer responded to a Welfare Check request. The individual was fine.
