Law & Order: Jan. 10-16

The following is a summary of incidences that occurred or were reported to the Cordova Police Department Jan. 10 through Jan. 16, 2022. Defendant(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, January 10:

  • 8:21 a.m. An officer issued a citation to a motorist on First Street.
  • 8:42 a.m. An officer issued a citation to a motorist on First Street.
  • 8:49 a.m. An officer responded to a Welfare Check request. The individual was fine.
  • 10:42 a.m. The City Streets Department responded to a request for winter road maintenance on South Second Street.
  • 11:34 a.m. The City Streets Department responded to a request for winter road maintenance. 
  • 12:06 p.m. The Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, and Captain, responded to a 911 call from an individual stuck in an elevator at Sunset View Apartments.
  • 12:27 p.m. Responders reported the individual was clear of the elevator.
  • 7:26 p.m. An officer responded to a Welfare Check request.
  • 8:04 p.m. The caller reported to Dispatch the individual was located and safe.
  • 10:51 p.m. The City Streets Department responded to a request for winter road maintenance on Whitshed Road.

Tuesday, January 11:

  • 12:17 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team, Fire Marshal, and an officer responded to a medical call on Fifth Street. The patient was transported to the Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 12:47 p.m. An officer served legal papers.
  • 1:08 p.m. An officer responded to a dog complaint on Second Street.
  • 9:15 p.m. A resident came to the station to speak with an officer.

Wednesday, January 12:

  • 8:20 a.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medical call at the Bob Korn Memorial Swimming pool parking lot. The patient was transported to the Cordova Community Medical Center.

Thursday, January 13:

  • 8:27 a.m. The Emergency Medical Services team and an officer responded to a medical call on Fifth Street. The Emergency Medical Services team determined there was no need to transport the patient to the hospital. 
  • 7:23 p.m. Dispatch received a report of water on the highway at Whitshed Road and Copper River Highway. The responsible party was notified.

Friday, January 14:

  • 8:05 a.m. An officer responded to a report of a pallet in the middle of the road on Chase Avenue.
  • 3:13 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medivac transport call. The patient was transported from Cordova Community Medical Center to the airport.

Saturday, January 15:

  • 8:20 a.m. An officer responded to a report of alleged vandalism and theft at the Cordova Jr./Sr. High School.
  • 9:35 a.m. The City Water Department responded to a report of frozen water pipes at the Cordova Harbor and Port Department. 
  • 1:46 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team, the Fire Marshal, and an officer responded to a 911 medical call at the Alaska Commercial Company. The patient was transported to the Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 4:19 p.m. The City Water Department responded to a report of frozen water pipes on Cabin Ridge Road.

Sunday, January 16:

  • 7:30 a.m. The City Water Department responded to a report of frozen water pipes on Ski Hill Road.
  • 2:39 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team, the Fire Marshal, and an officer responded to a 911 medical call on Fifth Street. The patient was transported to the Cordova Community Medical Center.
