SWAMC’s annual meeting set for March 3-4

Members of the Southwest Alaska Municipal Conference are planning to hold their annual economic summit and membership meeting March 3-4 at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, with some voluntary and required protocols, depending on the pandemic situation at that time.

Summit organizers said their message this year is “emerging from the storm,” as the gathering reflects on how they have weathered the last two years as a region and how to move forward toward new opportunities. The agenda is still being finalized. Find updates at swamc.org/2022-conference.

The conference announcement said, in part, “we have all sat through endless numbers of Zoom meetings, teleconferences, full email inboxes, and it is time to network face to face as we have in the past (with voluntary and required COVID protocols in place, depending on the situation.)

Agenda items will include updates on fisheries research, policy and international and domestic markets; new job and investment opportunities in the maricultural industry, updates from state and local health officials and reports from federal and state legislators and presentations from candidates running for governor of Alaska.
