The following is a summary of incidences that occurred or were reported to the Cordova Police Department Jan. 17-23, 2021. Defendant(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, January 17:

  • 7:16 a.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medical call behind Nichols’ Front Door Store. The patient was transported to the Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 10:42 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a Motor Vehicle Accident at the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport parking lot. 
  • 12:28 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medivac transport call. The patient was transported from Cordova Community Medical Center to the airport.
  • 12:28 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a reckless driver on First Street.
  • 5:28 p.m. An officer responded to a report of possible drug paraphernalia found.

Tuesday, January 18:

  • 9:53 a.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medical call at McLaughlin Trailer Court. The patient was transported to the Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 11:44 a.m. An officer reported picking up clothing on the sidewalk of LeFevre Ave. The blue dress with sparkles, size 6T, was placed in Dispatch as a Lost and Found item. Is a little girl looking for her princess dress?

Wednesday, January 19:

  • 12:33 p.m. An officer issued a citation to a motorist on First Street.
  • 3:42 p.m. An officer issued a civil trespass on an individual, per request of property owner.
  • 9:55 p.m. Two officers responded to a 911 report of an ongoing argument at the Prince William Motel. Officers defused the situation.

Thursday, January 20:

  • 2:30 p.m. Dispatch received a report of fraudulent activity.

Friday, January 21:

  • 8:43 a.m. Dispatch received a parking complaint.
  • 5:27 p.m. Dispatch received a parking complaint.
  • 6:28 p.m. An officer responded to a 911 report of a snowmachine on fire at Mile 4.5 Copper River Highway. The fire was under control on arrival.
  • 8:39 p.m. An officer responded to a dog complaint.

Saturday, January 22:

  • 4:12 a.m. The Emergency Medical Services team and an officer responded to a 911 medical call at Mile 2¼ Whitshed Road. The patient was transported to the Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 7:15 a.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medivac transport call. The patient was transported from Cordova Community Medical Center to the airport.
  • 10:03 a.m. An officer responded to a medical transport call. The patient was transported from Cordova Community Medical Center to the patient’s residence.
  • 11:07 a.m. Officer responded to a medical transport call. The patient was transported from Cordova Community Medical Center to the patient’s residence.
  • 12:05 p.m. Howard Hansen, age 64, of Cordova, Alaska, reported to the station on a Bench Warrant for failure to appear.
  • 12:50 p.m. An officer responded to a dog complaint.
  • 2:38 p.m. An officer responded to a motorist assist call.
  • 6:37 p.m. An officer responded to a dog complaint.
  • 10:22 p.m. An officer responded to a 911 report of a domestic dispute.

Sunday, January 23:

  • 11:07 a.m. An officer responded to a report of a water line break on Chase Avenue.
  • 12:06 p.m. Dispatch received a report of a water leak on Railroad Row to Lake Avenue. Dispatch notified the Water Department.
  • 12:31 p.m. An officer responded to a medivac transport call. The patient was transported from Cordova Community Medical Center to the airport.
  • 7:33 p.m. An officer responded to a noise complaint at Mile 3.75 Whitshed Road.
