Law & Order: Feb. 7-20

The following is a summary of incidences that occurred or were reported to the Cordova Police Department Feb. 7 through Feb. 20. Defendant(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, February 7:

12:38 a.m. An officer responded to a report of harassment.

11:03 a.m. An officer responded to a report of a Hit and Run accident on a parked vehicle.

Tuesday, February 8:

7:18 a.m. An officer responded to a report of an alleged endangered minor.

Wednesday, February 9:

12:23 p.m. An officer responded to a report of vandalism on a public building.

Thursday, February 10:

12:32 a.m. An officer, Fire personnel, and the volunteer Emergency Medical Services team responded to a 911 call on Eyak Drive. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.

4:52 a.m. Fire personnel and the volunteer Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medivac transport call. The patient was transported from Cordova Community Medical Center to the airport.

9:35 a.m. Two residents came to the station to report a motor vehicle accident on First Street and Council Avenue.

7:37 p.m. An officer responded to a parking violation complaint on Whitshed Road.

10:31 p.m. An officer, Fire personnel, the Emergency Medical Services team, and City Shop personnel responded to a 911 report of an occupied vehicle that slid off the road and turned upside down in Fleming Cove Pond. City Shop personnel and Fire/EMS crews pulled the vehicle from the pond.  Involved parties were transported to the Cordova Community Medical Center. 

Friday, February 11:

6:40 a.m. An officer responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Harbor Loop Road.

7:55 p.m. The volunteer Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medivac transport call. The patient was transported from Cordova Community Medical Center to the airport.

Saturday, February 12:

5:07 p.m. An officer issued a warning to a motorist at Fisherman’s Avenue and Copper River Highway.

Sunday, February 13:

7:41 p.m. An officer responded to a request for assistance on Second Street. The officer provided safe transportation to individual’s residence on Browning Avenue.

Monday, February 14:

8:16 a.m. A resident called the station to speak with an officer.

8:37 a.m. An officer conducted traffic surveillance at the Cordova Jr/Sr High School.

8:57 a.m. An officer conducted traffic surveillance at Mt. Eccles Elementary School.

9:04 a.m. An officer conducted a security check at the U.S Forest Service building.

9:11 a.m. An officer conducted a security check at The Cordova Center.

9:22 a.m. A resident called the station to speak with an officer.

10:23 a.m.  A resident called the station to speak with an officer.

12:54 p.m.  An officer conducted security surveillance for flight 61 at Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.

2:37 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flight 66 at Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.

6:47 p.m. An officer conducted a security check at a local business.

7:45 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a missing patient at the Cordova Community Medical Center. 8:00 p.m. The Cordova Community Medical Center reported they have the patient. 

11:25 p.m. An officer conducted a security check at the Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.

Tuesday, February 15:

1:20 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flight 61 at Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.

2:35 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flight 66 at Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.

6:20 p.m. Dispatch received a report of no water pressure on Cabin Ridge Road. The City Water Department was notified and responded. 6:56 p.m. Water pressure was successfully restored.

9:58 p.m. An officer conducted a security check at the Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.

Wednesday, February 16:

8:30 a.m. An officer conducted traffic surveillance at Mt. Eccles Elementary School.

8:40 a.m. An officer conducted traffic surveillance at the Cordova Jr/Sr High School.

12:33 p.m. Two officers served court documents.

3:15 p.m. An officer served court documents. 

3:26 p.m. An officer issued a warning to a motorist.

10:13 p.m. An officer conducted a security check at the Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.

Thursday, February 17:

10:22 a.m. A resident came to the station to report hitting a dog on Whitshed Road. An officer responded.

10:02 p.m. Two officers responded to a 911 report of domestic violence in progress.

11:36 p.m. James Brandon Stanley, age 35, of Cordova, Alaska, was arrested for Assault in the Third Degree.

Friday, February 18:

12:03 p.m. A local business reported a scam call.

1:33 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flight 61 at Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.

4:29 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medivac transport call. The patient was transported from Cordova Community Medical Center to the airport.

Saturday, February 19:

10:40 a.m. An officer responded to a report burglary. 

12:44 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flight 61 at Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.

1:04 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a dog on the ice at Nirvana Park. 2:05 p.m. A resident came to the station to pick up the dog.

2:46 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flight 66 at Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.

3:19 p.m. An officer served civil papers.

Sunday, February 20:

1:52 a.m. An officer responded to a report of an unoccupied vehicle in the ditch on Copper River Highway in front of the Cordova Cemetery.

9:19 a.m. An officer conducted security surveillance at Orca Inlet Road.

10:33 a.m. The Fire Department responded to a report of an oil spill at the end of the boardwalk on Odiak Pond.

12:31 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flight 61 at Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.

2:23 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flight 66 at Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.

10:14 p.m. An officer conducted a security check at the Merle K Mudhole Smith Airport.
