Law & Order: March 14-20

The following is a summary of incidences that occurred or were reported to the Cordova Police Department March 14 through March 20, 2022. Defendant(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, March 14:

  • 12:42 a.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 11:03 a.m. The Fire Marshal responded to a report of a flame with smoke under the dock on the transient float at the Harbor on Nicholoff Way. Cordova Electric was notified.
  • 11:32 a.m. An Officer responded to a Citizen’s request to speak with an Officer.
  • 1:05 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 2:54 p.m. Dispatch received a dog complaint.
  • 11:34 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

Tuesday, March 15:

  • 12:18 p.m. An Officer served civil papers.
  • 1:54 p.m. An Officer responded to a Citizen who came to the station to speak with an Officer.
  • 2:12 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medivac transport call. The patient was transported from Cordova Community Medical Center to the airport.

Wednesday, March 16:

  • 8:47 a.m. An Officer responded to a Citizen’s request to speak with an Officer.
  • 10:12 a.m. An Officer attempted to serve civil papers.  No contact.
  • 10:20 a.m. An Officer attempted to serve civil papers.  No contact.
  • 10:31 a.m. A Citizen came to the station for Dog Registration.
  • 11:16 a.m. An Officer and the Emergency Medical Services team responded to a 911 call on Lake Avenue. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 12:45 p.m. An Officer issued a Warning to a motorist on LeFevre Avenue and Copper River Highway.
  • 2:14 p.m. A resident came to the station to be fingerprinted.
  • 2:20 p.m. An Officer conducted follow-up on a domestic violence case. 
  • 2:58 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flight 66 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 3:49 p.m. An Officer conducted follow-up on a welfare case. 

Thursday, March 17:

  • 1:13 a.m. An Officer went out on general patrol.
  • 1:08 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flight 61 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 4:28 p.m. An individual came to the station to report lost item(s).
  • 5:26 p.m. An Officer and the Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medical call on Jim Poor Avenue. The patient declined care or transport.
  • 7:22 p.m. An Officer responded to a report of yelling at Sunset View Apartments. 7:49 p.m. The Officer requested assistance. Two Officers provided transportation home for an intoxicated individual. 
  • 7:59 p.m. An Officer responded to a report of a motorist driving erratically. The Officer reported the vehicle had a malfunction and the driver was not impaired. The Officer ensured the individual arrived home safely.

Friday, March 18:

  • 10:58 a.m. An Officer conducted follow-up on a drug case. 
  • 12:05 p.m. An Officer responded to a Citizen who came to the station to speak with an Officer.
  • 1:08 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 2:04 p.m. An Officer served civil papers. 
  • 4:04 p.m. An Officer served a summons. 

Saturday, March 19:

  • 12:55 a.m. An Officer went out on general patrol.
  • 12:52 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flight 61 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 2:55 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flight 66 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 3:40 p.m. An Officer conducted a Welfare Check. The person found to be fine.
  • 7:45 p.m. Dispatch received a report of door off its hinges at Wells Fargo Bank. The responsible party was contacted.

Sunday, March 20:

  • 12:35 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flight 61 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 2:40 p.m. An Officer conducted security surveillance for flight 66 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 10:10 p.m. An Officer conducted a security check at the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
