The following is a summary of incidences that occurred or were reported to the Cordova Police Department April 11-17, 2022. Defendant(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, April 11:

  • 12:36 a.m. An officer conducted a security check at the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 1:46 a.m. An officer conducted a security check at the Prince William Sound Science Center construction site.
  • 1:04 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 4:04 p.m. A resident came to the station to be fingerprinted.
  • 4:32 p.m. An officer served court documents.

Tuesday, April 12:

  • 12:53 a.m. An officer conducted a security check at the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 9:20 a.m. Dispatch received a report of an abandoned vehicle.
  • 9:53 a.m. A citizen came to the station to drop off a Found cell phone. The phone was found near the Post Office in some snow. Is it yours?
  • 1:01 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 5:29 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a call on Adams Avenue. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 8:58 p.m. An officer responded to an anonymous tip.
  • 9:35 p.m. Christian Johnson, age 47, of Cordova, Alaska, was arrested for Violating Conditions of Release.
  • 9:40 p.m. Dispatch received a report of a runaway dog.

Wednesday, April 13:

  • 7:43 a.m. An officer issued a citation on a vehicle parked in the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport parking lot. The citation with a notice of abandonment was sent to the registered owner.
  • 9:01 a.m. An officer issued a citation on a vehicle parked in the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport parking lot. The citation with a notice of abandonment was sent to the registered owner.
  • 12:48 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

Thursday, April 14:

  • 12:48 a.m. Two Officers conducted a security check at the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 12:57 a.m. The Emergency Medical Services team, Rescue Company, and two Officers responded to a 911 call on Fifth Street. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 6:52 a.m. The Fire Marshal responded to a commercial fire alarm at Orca Adventure Lodge. There was no fire.
  • 9:37 a.m. An officer responded to a report of a vehicle stuck under the chair lift at Ski Hill, rendering the lift inoperable.
  • 2:47 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flight 66 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 8:28 p.m. Dispatch received a report of a bow picker possibly sinking. The Harbor Master was contacted. The Harbor Master contacted the Owner.
  • 9:04 p.m. A citizen came to the station to speak with an Officer.

Friday, April 15:

  • 12:34 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 12:41 p.m. A citizen came to the station to speak with an Officer.
  • 9:13 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team and Fire Department responded to a 911 call on Fifth Street. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 11:03 p.m. An officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.
  • 11:34 p.m. An officer issued a citation to a Motorist on Second Street and Lake Avenue.
  • 11:56 p.m. The volunteer Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medivac transport call. The patient was transported from Cordova Community Medical Center to the airport.

Saturday, April 16:

  • 1:09 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flights 61 and 66 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 8:33 p.m. An officer issued a Warning to a Motorist at Mile 7 Copper River Highway.
  • 9:18 p.m. An officer issued a Warning to a Motorist at Mile 6.5 Copper River Highway.
  • 10:19 p.m. An officer issued a Warning to a Motorist on Railroad Avenue.
  • 10:21 p.m. An officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.
  • 10:26 p.m. An officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.
  • 11:05 p.m. An officer issued a Citation/Summons to a Motorist at Mile 5 Whitshed Road.

Sunday, April 17:

  • Nothing to report.
