Copper River Delta Shorebird Hybrid Festival

This year’s in-person and virtual festival is set for May 5-8. Registration is now open. Visit coppershorebird.com for details.

Folded Feathers

Visiting artist Kassandra Mirosh presents “FOLDED Feathers”, an art workshop from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 7. Each participant will create a 10”x8” raven ornament, wall hanging, magnet out of cardboard, recycled and specialty paper. Kassandra encourages you to bring paper that is special to you like cards or photographs that you might like to incorporate into your creation, but it’s not required. Ages 13 and up are welcome. $25 workshop fee includes all materials. Space is limited. Sign up at the Cordova Museum or call 907-424-6665.

Bay to Bay in May

Run 9.1 miles or bike 6.1 then run 3 miles from Hartney Bay to Orca Bay on May 7. Customizable Copper River Fleece jackets go to the most average male and female times. Pianist and comedian Sarah Hagan will be performing on Tuesday, May 10 at the North Star Theater. Tickets available at the door.

Car seat check

Native Village of Eyak is hosting a car seat check event between 6 and 7 p.m. on May 13 and again from 8 to 11 a.m. on May 14 in the NVE back parking lot at 110 Nicholoff Way. A car seat technician will be available to check your seat. Limited number of car seats and booster seats available at no cost. Reservations requested. Foster Family Orientation

Tribal Family Services is offering a Foster Family Orientation to provide information and to answer questions about becoming a foster family from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18 at the Tribal Family Services office located in the Pioneer Square building on Main Street. Beach Meet & Greet

Calling all direct marketers, oyster farmers, fishermen, kelp farmers, ocean-based businesses and ocean artists and makers, join the Cordova Chamber of Commerce from 6 to 9 p.m. on May 28 at Harney Bay beach fire pit. Bring something that showcases your work, whether it be your catch, artistry or other ocean-based work.

Used book sale

The Hospital Auxiliary used book sale is through May 9 in the basement of the hospital. There are lots of books as well as puzzles, videos and music that are looking for a new home.

Student Art Show

Cordova Museum’s Copper River Gallery presents a Student Art Show by Mt. Eccles Elementary School through April 30. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Hunter Education

Learn to hunt safely and responsibly at your own pace online. The certificate meets the requirements of hunter education in all 50 states where required. The cost is $19.95. In addition to the online course, the completion of the mandatory field day and shooting is also required. Field day date TBD. Call for musicians
