Cordova Fire Department recently marked the arrival of new water rescue apparatus with a ribbon cutting ceremony complete with refreshments, including Girl Scout cookies, for Cordova residents.
This apparatus was funded through a community donation given by AC Value Center in combination with the AC Value Center community “Round Up” program last January.
Other funds were donated by private organizations to assist with the purchase and the vessel was presented to the public for the first time the day of the Cordova Center Community Stairway opening on April 15.
The city purchased from the local Girl Scout troop all remaining boxes of cookies from the 2022 cookie sales and passed them out during the grand opening ceremonies.
The Cordova Volunteer Fire Department expressed gratitude for the support of AC Value Center, all other contributing community organizations and the support of the community itself in this project.
