Law & Order – 12/5/22 – 12/18/22

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 12-5-22 thru 12-18-22. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

DECEMBER 5, MONDAY:

  • At 1:47 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • Several calls were received regarding icy roads. City and State crews were notified, and sanding crews responded.

DECEMBER 6, TUESDAY:

  • At 3:10 a.m. officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.

DECEMBER 7, WEDNESDAY:

  • Nothing to report.

DECEMBER 8, THURSDAY:

  • At 6:37 a.m. Dustin Carr was arrested for suspicion of assault.
  • At 10:41 p.m. Christian Johnson was arrested for Violation of Conditions of Release.

DECEMBER 9, FRIDAY:

  • At 2:39 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 10:42 p.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.

DECEMBER 10, SATURDAY: 

  • Nothing to report.

DECEMBER 11, SUNDAY: 

  • At 3:26 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 10:54 p.m. an officer conducted a security check at the Alaskan Hotel and Bar.

DECEMBER 12, MONDAY:

  • At 1:37 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 11:10 p.m. an officer conducted a security check at a local bar.

DECEMBER 13, TUESDAY:

  • At 3:27 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 4:53 a.m. an officer conducted a security check of main street and found a local business door unlocked. The responsible party was notified and secured the building.
  • At 11:56 p.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.

DECEMBER 14, WEDNESDAY:

  • At 9:51 a.m. a caller reported their car had been damaged in a hit and run accident.

DECEMBER 15, THURSDAY:

  • At 2:04 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 11:59 p.m. a truck was reported off the embankment on Copper River Highway near Whiteshed Road.

DECEMBER 16, FRIDAY:

  • At 4:34 a.m. a truck was reported in the ditch off the Highway.
  • At 9:52 a.m. a caller reported their vehicle slid on the ice and was involved in a single vehicle accident near Copper River Seafoods.
  • At 10:50 p.m. an officer conducted a security check at a local bar.
  • At 10:57 p.m. an officer conducted a security check at a local bar.
  • At 11:21 p.m. a caller reported someone trying to break into his residence. An officer was notified and began an investigation.

DECEMBER 17, SATURDAY: 

  • At 4:23 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 6:13 p.m. an officer served court paperwork to an individual.
  • At 9 p.m. officers attempted to execute an arrest warrant on an individual. Several residents were contacted in search of the individual.

DECEMBER 18, SUNDAY: 

  • At 12:30 a.m. officers served a search warrant and arrested Charlie Hodson, age 23, for harboring a fugitive, contributing to the delinquency a minor and misconduct involving a controlled substance. Officers also arrested a minor on an outstanding warrant. Both were taken into custody.
  • At 8:53 p.m. Dan McIntosh called reporting he had hit some ice and his vehicle spun out of control and wrecked. Police, EMS and a wrecker were dispatched and responded.

DMV HOURS:  Tuesday – Thurs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave.  Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
