Updates from CPD – 01-30-2023 through 02-05-2023

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 01-30-2023 through 02-05-2023. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

JAN. 30, MONDAY: 

  • At 4:16pm an individual came into the station to report a theft. The case is under investigation.

JAN. 31, TUESDAY:

  • At 2:40am an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 3:07am an officer conducted a security check at the AMHS Ferry terminal.
  • At 9:03am an officer served papers.

FEB. 1, WEDNESDAY:

  • At 10:37am an individual reported their vehicle had been vandalized. An investigation is ongoing.
  • At 3:22pm dispatch received a call from an alarm company about a burglary alarm. The alarm was cancelled before an officer arrived.

FEB. 2, THURSDAY:

  • At approximately 2:00pm Andrew Johnson, age 35, was arrested for misconduct involving a controlled substance.
  • At approximately 2:00pm Joshua Donaldson, age 39, was arrested on a warrant for misconduct involving a controlled substance.
  • At approximately 2:00pm Nadia Hoffhines, age 24, was arrested on a warrant for misconduct involving a controlled substance.
  • At approximately 2:00pm Timothy Miller, age 61, was arrested on multiple bench warrants.
  • At approximately 2:00pm Elton Brown, age 65, was arrested on a bench warrant.
  • At 7:24pm a caller reported that they were in distress, multiple officers and the ambulance responded, and the patient was taken to the hospital for care.

FEB. 3, FRIDAY:

  • At 7:20pm an officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver was given a verbal warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.

FEB. 4, SATURDAY:  

  • At 3:01am an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 11:55pm an officer conducted a security check at the AMHS Ferry terminal.

FEB. 5, SUNDAY:  

  • At 12:04am an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 4:26am a caller reported a disturbance at a neighboring residence. An officer responded to the residence and arrested Mitchell Sterling, age 37, for assault in the fourth degree.
  • At 2:02pm a caller requested EMS for lift assistance. The ambulance and Fire Rescue squad were dispatched and assisted.
  • At 6:15pm a caller requested an EMS for himself. The ambulance responded and transported the patient to the hospital.
  • At 18:52 Nadia Hoffhines, age 24, was arrested for violating her conditions of release.
  • At 9:12pm a caller requested EMS for himself. The ambulance responded and transported the patient to the hospital.

DMV HOURS:  Monday-Friday from 11:30am to 3:30pm unless otherwise posted. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave.  Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
