Fisheries, game boards to consider rule changes

Proposals for changes to regulations for fish and game advisory committees, processes for adopting regulations, advisory committee closures and subsistence uses are being accepted through May 1 by the Alaska Joint Board of Fisheries and Game.

Proposals for Chapters 96, 97 and 99 of Title 5 of Alaska Department of Fish and Game regulations are to be considered, ranging from qualifications for membership on fish and game advisory committees to the procedures for developing fish and game regulations.

Proposals may be submitted by mail to ADF&G Boards Support Section, P.O. Box 115526, Juneau, Alaska 99811-5526; via fax to 907-465-6094; or online to  www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=process.jointboard.

Proposals must be submitted on a current Joint Board proposal form available online at www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=process.jointboard or from any ADF&G Boards Support office.

Each proposal must contain a contact telephone number and mailing address. Email addresses are also appreciated. Print or type the individual’s or organization’s name as appropriate.

Proposals related to non-subsistence areas must address information related to at least one of the 12 (specified) socioeconomic characteristics. Proposals that are incomplete, unclear or lack sufficient information if related to non-subsistence areas, may be omitted from the proposal book. Contact the Board’s Support Section staff if you have questions or need assistance with completing the proposal form.

All proposals are reviewed prior to publication. Proposals that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted.

Proposal books will be available to the advisory committees, agencies, and the public online at www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=process.jointboard.
