Lady Wolverines top Alumni in Homecoming games

Homecoming for Cordova High School on Feb. 24-25, was supposed to include a conference matchup between Cordova and Tok, but when Tok was unable to send a girls’ team down former Cordova Lady Wolverines – supplemented by a few imports – put on old CHS uniforms to face the high school squad in a pair of entertaining and highly competitive games.

The CHS squad used their conditioning to their advantage, pressing the alumni throughout both games and winning 18-15 on Friday, Feb. 24 as well as 38-27 on Saturday, Feb. 25.

Leading the alumni scoring in the first game were Teal (Webber) Hanson with 4 points and Pam (Van den Broek) Hefley with 3 points, while Katie Pallas and Alayna Goss lead the CHS squad with 6 and 5 points respectively.  Ronalyn Adajar topped the alumni scoring in the rematch with 7 points while Shaunessi Schandel and Katie Pallas scored in double digits for CHS with 15 and 12 points respectively.

The Lady Wolverines have a well-deserved week off before heading to the regional playoffs at Glennallen on March 9-11.
