Update from the CPD – Feb. 27 – Mar. 3

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between Feb. 27 and March 3. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

FEBRUARY 27, MONDAY:

  • At 12:52 a.m. a caller requested an officer respond to a noise complaint. An officer responded.
  • At 9:19 p.m. a caller reported a reckless driver on Whitshed Road, almost hit her and her dog as it drove past.

FEBRUARY 28, TUESDAY:

  • At 12:21 p.m. a caller requested an ambulance. An ambulance responded and transported the patient.
  • At 1:56 p.m. a caller requested an officer respond to the Harbor, there was a man yelling, an officer responded and spoke with the man.
  • At 4:58 p.m. a caller reported a vehicle had backed into the street sign next to the masonic. An officer responded.
  • At 6:19 p.m. a caller requested an officer respond to her residence, there was a man there who was yelling and screaming. An officer responded and transported man to the hospital.
  • At 10:16 p.m. a caller requested an officer respond to a noise complaint. An officer was advised.

MARCH 1, WEDNESDAY:

  • At 2:03 a.m. a caller requested an ambulance for transport to the hospital. An ambulance responded and transported that patient.
  • At 6:36 a.m. a caller reported a vehicle was parked in a ‘no overnight parking’ area. Requested the owner be advised not to park there.

MARCH 2, THURSDAY:

  • At 3:39 p.m. an ambulance transported a patient to a medivac flight.
  • At 7:15 p.m. a caller reported a dog off the leash at the harbor.

MARCH 3, FRIDAY:

  • At 2:26 p.m. an individual was at the Police Station to report a dog off the leash.
  • At 8:32 p.m. a caller reported a dog running along the highway, going up Alpine Falls.

MARCH 4, SATURDAY: 

  • At 12:17 a.m. a caller reported a fight outside the Moose Lodge, an officer was advised.
  • At 2:03 a.m. a caller requested an ambulance. An ambulance responded and transported the patient.
  • At 3:44 p.m. a caller reported they would be conducting a controlled burn.
  • At 7:14 p.m. a caller reported a black and white dog in the middle of the road. An officer was advised.
  • At 8:34 p.m. a caller requested an ambulance. An ambulance responded and transported the patient.

MARCH 5, SUNDAY:

  • At 1:10 a.m. a caller requested an ambulance. An ambulance responded and transported the patient.
  • At 7:29 a.m. a caller requested an ambulance. An ambulance responded and transported the patient.
  • At 8:14 a.m. a Trooper reported a cow and calf moose on the highway at 9 mile. The Trooper ensured that they were off the roadway.
  • At 12:27 p.m. an individual turned in a set of keys found at the ferry terminal.

DMV HOURS:  Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
