Deadline is today for North Pacific Research Board Advisory Panel applications

Applications are due by today, March 31, for three vacancies on the advisory panel of the North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) in Anchorage, which directs research on species, processes, and dynamics in the marine ecosystems of Alaska.

Two of these seats are designated to represent the Gulf of Alaska region and one to represent the North Pacific region at-large.

The NPRB Advisory Panel represents stakeholders, user groups, Alaska Native communities, and other interested groups and communities from the Pacific Arctic, Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands, and Gulf of Alaska. The NPRB Advisory Panel advises the Board in achieving its overall mission to improve understanding of marine ecosystems and to inform sustainable fisheries management. Input from the NPRB Advisory Panel shapes research and outreach programs including identifying research priorities, advising programmatic development, evaluating communications and outreach efforts, and reviewing proposals received by the Board.

All nominations, including self-nominations, must include a brief resume not to exceed two pages, full contact information including phone number and email address, and three letters of reference.

For additional information contact NPRB Science Director, Matthew.Baker@nprb.org or NPRB Executive Director, Lynn.Palensky@nprb.org. The website, www.nprb.org, has more information about the Board and its activities.
