PWSRCAC plans annual meeting, reception, boat tour

Board members of the Prince William Sound Regional Citizens’ Advisory Council (PWSRCAC) will host three events in Valdez from May 3-5, including a cruise to allow those on board to learn about oil spill recovery training, a reception, and their annual board meeting.

The PWSRCAC board is scheduled to meet at the Valdez Civic Center at 110 Clifton Drive. The meeting is open to the public to attend in person or virtually, the latter by teleconferencing in to 1-888-788-0099.

The meeting ID is 893 7326 1330 for the videoconference (https://pwsrcac.zoom.us/j/89373261330). Visual presentations given during the meeting can be streamed live through the Zoom link or accessed by download on the council’s website when available.

The 2.5-hour boat tour on May 3 will cruise to the site of on-water Ship Escort Response Vessel System (SERVS) fishing fleet annual training operated by Alyeska Pipeline Service Company. The event is free and open to the public. Council and Alyeska Pipeline staff will be on board to describe the training for the region and answer questions.

The charter boat, Stan Stephens’ Glacier Spirit, will depart at 12:30 p.m. and return around 3 p.m. Each passenger will need to reserve their seat by filling out this a registration form online at www.tinyurl.com/FVtour23.

Also that day, in conjunction with the board meeting, the board of the Alaska Tanker Co., Hilcorp, and the council will co-sponsor a public reception outdoors at the Kelsey Municipal Plaza at 412 Ferry Way, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The tentative schedule for the board’s May 4 session is from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On May 5, the meeting is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This meeting is open to the public, excluding for executive sessions. Public comments are scheduled to be taken on Thursday starting at 8:40 a.m. Those wishing to speak during public comments are highly encouraged to sign up ahead of time by emailing Jennifer Fleming at fleming@pwsrcac.org.
