CPD dispatch report – May 8, 2023 and May 14, 2023

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between May 8, 2023 and May 14, 2023. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MAY 8, MONDAY:

  •  At 1:31 a.m. a caller reported a runaway dog. An officer was advised.
  • At 8:03 a.m. a caller reported a vehicle blocking a dumpster by the Townhouses. An officer was advised.
  • At 8:15 a.m. a caller reported a bear had gotten into their garbage sometime in the night. An officer was advised.
  • At 10:26 a.m. a caller reported a motorhome was parked partially in the roadway and was concerned it could be hit. An officer was advised.
  • At 11:26 a.m. a caller reported someone had broken into a property they were watching. An officer responded arresting a civilian for burglary and criminal mischief.
  • At 4:51 p.m. a caller reported a minor vehicle collision, an officer responded.

MAY 9, TUESDAY:

  •  At 6:36 a.m. a caller reported a bear had broken into their trash container and was still in the area. An officer responded, but the bear had left before he arrived. 
  • At 12:31 p.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.

MAY 10, WEDNESDAY:

  • At 2:03 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 4:04 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop. A warning was issued.
  • At 6:12 a.m. an individual was in to report a hit and run. An officer was advised.
  • At 9:25 a.m. an automated fire alarm notice was received for Ocean Beauty Seafoods. The responsible party was contacted, and the fire alarm canceled.

MAY 11, THURSDAY:

  • At 1:14 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop and a civilian was arrested for driving while license revoked.
  • At 4:00 p.m. a caller reported an abandoned vehicle and requested it be towed. An officer was advised.
  • At 11:45 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop and a civilian was arrested for DUI.

MAY 12, FRIDAY:

  • At 9:40 a.m. an individual turned in property found by the breakwater trail.
  • At 1:15 p.m. a caller reported that his belongings were stolen and requested an officer. An officer responded.
  • At 1:39 p.m. an individual was in to report a hit and run. An officer was advised.

MAY 13, SATURDAY: 

  • At 12:13 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 10:33 a.m. a caller reported they found a wallet. The owner was contacted, and the wallet returned. 

MAY 14, SUNDAY:

  • At 7:28 a.m. an individual reported a storm drain cover had fallen in on Chase Avenue. City Public Works was contacted.

DMV HOURS:  Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments are now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
