Blackwater Railroad Company will headline Salmon Jam

Blackwater Railroad Company, a folk-rock band, will headline musical festivities for the 20th anniversary of the Copper River Salmon Jam on July 14 and July 15 at Cordova’s Mt. Eyak Ski Area.

The popular Seward band will perform alongside local musicians at the event hosted by Cordova Arts & Pageant at the ski area.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets on Friday and Saturday evenings, as this year’s event will again be spread out on the ski hill to maximize the natural amphitheater aspect of the venue. The backup location, in the event of inclement weather, will be at the Cordova Jr/Sr High School.

The lineup of events for all ages this year — in addition to the music — includes handcrafting workshops, interactive art projects, and engaging activities for kids during the Small Fry, ta Copper River salmon BBQ, beer garden, Artisan Market, and the Taste of Cordova event showcasing local chefs.

The Alaska Salmon Runs on Saturday morning is welcoming runners to register online for the marathon, half-marathon, 10k, 5k, or Smolt 1-mile Fun Run at salmonjam.org/ak-salmon-runs/
