THE PRETZEL FACTORY – Leonard and Marie Lange, old-time area fishermen now moonlighting as pretzel proprietors, recently opened a new shop, the Pretzel Factory, on First Street in Cordova. It specializes in hard and soft pretzels (including pre-cooked pretzels to take home) and long and short hot dogs, but also serves other assorted refreshments. Leonard began setting up shop Jan. 4, and by Friday afternoon, Jan. 13, was open for business. Although the Pretzel Factory appeared to be doing good business on its first day, most of the money taken in shifted from Leonard’s wallet to Leonard’s till as he treated several helpers (above) to sample pretzels. The Pretzel Factory is open from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily, or later if business demands.
