Hometown Holiday Kick-off
December 6, 2019 at 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The Cordova Chamber of Commerce’s Hometown Holiday Kick-off will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 in front of the Cordova Center on Main Street. This year, the event will feature a live Christmas tree, caroling, hot chocolate, appearance by Santa and tree lighting between the Cordova Center and Pioneer Igloo.
Friday, Dec 6 is also the start of Moonlight Madness, a Chamber program that encourages local residents to Shop Cordova First during the holiday season. Local businesses stay open late every Friday leading up to Christmas to give Cordovans more opportunities to do their holiday shopping in Cordova. The Chamber will circulate a list of participating businesses with details on Moonlight Madness sales, treats and festive activities.
Passport to Fun!
Shop Cordova First Passports will be available again this year. Throughout the holiday season, get a stamp for each local retail purchase you make and turn it in to the Chamber office by January 1 for your chance to win prizes. Every $20 spent locally equals one entry into the drawing. Shop Cordova First Passports will be distributed at the November Saturday Market at the Sobriety Celebration, the Holiday Kick-off on Dec. 6, and at the Bidarki Holiday Bazaar, Dec. 6 and 7.
All events are free and open to the community and are supported by local businesses and volunteers. If you would like to donate or volunteer, email Chamber director Cathy Renfeldt at email@example.com or call 907-424-7260.
