Law & Order: March 10-16

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 3-10-17 thru 3-16-17. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MARCH 10, Friday: 

6:58 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance for his wife who injured her knee and could not walk. Ambulance responded and transported the patient to CCMC.

MARCH 11, Saturday: 

Nothing to report.

MARCH 12, Sunday:

7:19 a.m. Caller reported a fire alarm sounding in a building. Fire Department responded and was determined to be a false alarm.

MARCH 13, Monday: 

6:22 p.m. Fire Officer received a report of a grass fire by the burn pile. Fire Officer responded finding the grass across the road from the burn pile had caught fire but was extinguished when he arrived.

MARCH 14, Tuesday: 

4:28 p.m. Officer arrested Elton Brown, age 59 of Cordova Alaska, on an Arrest Warrant.

MARCH 15, Wednesday: 

2:58 p.m. Caller reported a MVA with no injuries by the pool. Officer responded and started an investigation.

MARCH 16, Thursday:  

7:21 a.m. Caller requested help because her pipe burst in her basement. Water Department was advised and they responded. 4:08 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance for a man who fell off a truck. Ambulance responded transporting the man to CCMC.

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS:  Tuesday – Thurs from 8am to 3:30pm unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave.  Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
