Law & Order: Sept. 9-15

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between9-9-16 thru 9-15-16. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of Law.

SEPTEMBER 9, Friday 

Individual reported a firearm lost while four wheeling. Case is under investigation. 9:36 a.m. Caller requested an ambulance for a family member that wasn’t doing well. Ambulance crew responded and transported patient to the hospital.

SEPTEMBER 10, Saturday

12:45 a.m. Caller reported a very intoxicated individual harassing people at a local establishment. Officer responded and escorted the individual to where they were staying with no further incident. 3:42 a.m. Caller reported a noise complaint on a neighbor playing music loudly. Officer responded and had them turn the music off and warned that they would be cited if he had to return. 7:08 p.m. Caller reported a loose dog wandering about. Officer responded and returned the dog to its owner.

SEPTEMBER 11, Sunday

3:19 p.m. Caller reported that an individual was fishing in closed waters. State Trooper responded to area and spoke with individual fishing who was not violating any laws.

SEPTEMBER 12, Monday

4:33 a.m. Caller reported that they needed an ambulance. Ambulance responded but patient had left and was already at CCMC. 11:30 a.m. Officer arrested Brandy Thorne, age 30, of Cordova on a warrant for violating a Domestic Violence Protective Order.  In addition, Thorne was charged with resisting arrest and again for violating the domestic violence protective order. 12:19 p.m. Caller requested and ambulance for an individual with shortness of breath. Ambulance responded and transported the individual to CCMC.

SEPTEMBER 13, Tuesday

6:54 p.m. Caller requested and ambulance for a medical transport from the airport to the hospital. Ambulance responded and transported the patient.

SEPTEMBER 14, Wednesday

5:21 p.m. Caller reported a vehicle was missing from a parking lot.  Officer responded and located vehicle in another parking lot.  9:45 p.m. Multiple callers reported hearing gunshots around the area of the hospital.  Officer patrolled area.

SEPTEMBER 15, Thursday

3:16 a.m. Caller reported her boyfriend had harmed her.  Artemy Merculief, age 29 of Cordova, was arrested for Assault – Domestic Violence. 10:13 a.m. Caller requested welfare check on a friend.  Officers responded and the individual would not answer the door but could be heard moving inside.  11:05 a.m. Caller reported stolen electronics.  Officer responded and case is under investigation.  12:45 p.m.  Caller reported a tenant moved out owing them money.  Case is under investigation.  1:30 pm.  Caller requested a person be trespassed from their property.  Officer located subject and performed trespass.  1:53 p.m. Person turned in prescription bottle they found in at station.  Drugs will be destroyed.  8:14 p.m. Caller stated she was about to get into a fight with another individual.  Officer responded and diffused situation.

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS:  Tuesday – Thurs from 8am to 3:30pm unless otherwise posted.  Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave.  Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
