Law & Order: Dec. 8-14, 2017

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 12-8-17 thru 12-14-17. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.                        

DECEMBER 8, Friday:

10:39 a.m. Caller reported a cabin at 13-mile campground had been broken into and ransacked. Officer responded investigating the situation.

DECEMBER 9, Saturday:

10:35 a.m. Caller reported his trailer had been broken into and items had been stolen. Officer responded investigating the situation.

DECEMBER 10, Sunday:

11:55 p.m. Caller reported a tree had fallen in the highway near Highland Drive. Officer and DOT responded clearing the tree.

DECEMBER 11, Monday:

1:13 a.m. Caller reported a lot of Conex’s had blown over at the boat yard and caused damage. Responsible parties were advised.

DECEMBER 12, Tuesday:

Nothing to report.

DECEMBER 13, Wednesday:

12:28 a.m. Caller requested an officer for someone who is being aggressive and wanted them to leave. Officer responded speaking to all parties involved.

DECEMBER 14, Thursday:

11:01 p.m. Caller reported an individual has been driving around acting suspicious. Officer responded speaking to the driver.

Notice 4 of 4:

On 9/20/2017, Cordova Police impounded an unmarked/unregistered boat trailer with seine net with no known owner at 100 First Street, Cordova, Alaska, as it was abandoned on private property.  Unless within fifteen days after the date of the notice (8/28/17),  either: (a) the vehicle is removed and stored in a lawful manner, or (b) a person with an interest in the vehicle requests a hearing under Section 10.54.060, the city may without further notice impound and dispose of the vehicle by sale, destruction or other disposition authorized by law.

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
