The U.S. Forest Service recently developed a mission site at mile 19.2 along Haystack Trail on the app, Agents of Discovery. This free, interactive mobile game allows kids to get outside, get moving and learn about the Chugach National Forest all at the same time.
To play, simply download the Agents of Discovery app, available for both Apple and Android, find and download the “Haystack Trail Mission,” and then hit the trail to find the challenges and figure out the answers, with Secret Agent Ruby the Red Salmon standing by to help.
After completing the mission, stop by the Cordova Ranger District office, 612 2nd St., to share your adventure and pick up a prize.
Please note that most areas in the forest do not have Wi-Fi, so be sure to download the app and the mission site before hitting the trail. Wi-Fi is not needed to play the game at the site. You can find out more about Agents of Discovery at https://www.fs.usda.gov/main/chugach/learning/kids.
