Cordova Saturday Market

Alaskan Paint Night

GOTR costume 5K and spooky games
A 5K Girls on the Run race, open to the community, will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Mt. Eccles Elementary School. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The race fee is $10, but free for ages 15 and younger. Haunted Sycamore
A shipboard haunted house through the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Sycamore will take place Sunday, Oct. 28. A version for young kids will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. while a scarier version for older kids will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
‘Portraits of Nature’ at Copper River Gallery
Kristin Link’s art show, “Portraits of Nature”, is on display at the Cordova Museum’s Copper River Gallery located within the Cordova Center. Link is a naturalist and painter currently living near McCarthy. Her illustrations and field sketches have been exhibited at the Alaska State Museum.
Sobriety Celebration

A play group for children from infants to 4 years old will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays at the Masonic Lodge. The group focuses on exploring developmental issues and building on each child’s strengths through large-motor and small-motor skills play, pretend play and sensory play. After School Art with Debbie Carlson will be held 3-4 p.m. Fridays in the Education Room at the Cordova Center. This program is geared towards grades 1-4.
Patch the Pirate Kids Club
Patch the Pirate Kids Club will be held 3-5 p.m. Fridays at the MorningStar Independent Baptist Church, 412 First St., for children grades first through sixth.
