Construction to repair and improve Whittier’s Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel drainage systems will require a modified schedule with early closings this winter, starting Sunday, Oct. 28.
On each Sunday through Thursday throughout the winter, the last tunnel opening will be the 8:30 p.m. run into Whittier. The tunnel will reopen in the mornings under its normal schedule, with the 7 a.m. run out of Whittier.
The tunnel will operate with the normal evening schedule on Fridays and Saturdays with the last run out of Whittier at 10:15 p.m. and into Whittier at 10:45 p.m.
Normal schedule hours will resume on April 30, 2019.
