Alaska Marine Science Symposium set for Jan 28-31

Keynote speakers are still to be announced, but online registration is now open for the 2019 Alaska Marine Science Symposium, the state’s premier marine research conference.

The annual gathering at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage attracts scientists, educators, resource managers, seafood harvesters, students and others interested in learning about the latest marine research being conducted in Alaska waters.

Presentations are made via a geographic theme, including the Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands, and the Arctic.  Topics include ocean physics, fishes and invertebrates, seabirds, marine mammals, local traditional knowledge and more.
