Law & Order: Feb. 1-7

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 2-1-19 thru 2-7-19. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

FEBRUARY 1, Friday:

11:40 a.m. Caller requested a welfare check on a friend that hadn’t been heard from in days. An officer responded and found the individual in a trailer that was filling with propane from a stove that had been left on. An individual was left to monitor the situation. 12:11 p.m. An officer picked up a stray dog on Lake Avenue and transported it to the pound. The owner later came to pay the license and pound fees and pick up the dog.

FEBRUARY 2, Saturday:

4:03 p.m. Caller requested a welfare check on an individual. An officer responded and found him to be okay.

FEBRUARY 3, Sunday:

3:14 a.m. An officer responded to a motor vehicle accident and arrested Breanna Lohse, age 28 of Cordova, Alaska, for Driving While Intoxicated. 6:37 p.m. Caller reported a vehicle had gone over the edge of the road while coming down the ski hill. Officer responded and found the vehicle unoccupied.

FEBRUARY 4, Monday:

4:35 a.m. Caller reported smoke in the kitchen at Mt. Eccles Elementary school. The fire department responded. 4:52 a.m. Caller reported falling down and requested assistance getting back into bed. An ambulance responded and assisted the individual.

FEBRUARY 5, Tuesday: 

Nothing to report.

FEBRUARY 6, Wednesday:

12:20 a.m. Caller reported suspicious activity outside her home. Officer responded and did not find anyone in the area.

FEBRUARY 7, Thursday:

Nothing to report.

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS: From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave.  Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
