Law & Order: April 12-18

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 4-12-19 thru 4-18-19. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.                      

APRIL 12, Friday:

1:01 a.m. An officer notified dispatch that he had arrested Joseph Christian, age 37, of Cordova, Alaska for DUI. 9:11 p.m. A Cordova store owner contacted the police department to report that the business had been victim of a scam. An officer is still investigating this report.

APRIL 13, Saturday:

10:02 a.m. A caller reported that Daniel McDaniel had assaulted him near First Street. An officer responded and arrested Daniel McDaniel, age 64, of Cordova, Alaska for Assault.

APRIL 14, Sunday:

1:34 a.m. An officer arrested Joseph Christian, age 37, of Cordova, Alaska for violating his conditions of release.

APRIL 15, Monday

Nothing to report.

APRIL 16, Tuesday:   

7:15 p.m. Caller requested an ambulance. The ambulance responded and transported a patient to the hospital.

APRIL 17, Wednesday:

Nothing to report.

APRIL 18, Thursday:

2:17 p.m. Caller requested a welfare check on their parents. An officer responded to the residence and determined everything was okay.

NOTES FROM CORDOVA DMV:

DMV HOURS: From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday unless otherwise posted. Motorcycle testing is still available, weather permitting. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
