City officials teamed up with the Anchorage consulting firm Agnew::Beck have released their latest updates on the Cordova Comprehensive Plan online at cordovacompplan.com and are seeking public feedback.

Since kicking off the comprehensive planning process in the fall of 2018, the project team has developed a draft vision, goals and strategies for the plan committee, planning commission and the city council’s consideration and feedback. On May 1, the Cordova Planning Commission and Cordova City Council convened for a joint comprehensive plan work session to review and provide feedback on draft plan policies.

Their current schedule calls for conducting an extended public review process over the summer to give fishermen, seasonal residents, visitors and others a chance to review the draft plan and to share input. The plan is to be finalized this fall.

City staff and plan committee members say they will continue to give short presentations on the developing plan at events and workplaces, and they welcome requests for meet-up events.

Questions and additional comments on the plan are welcome by Leif Stavig, city planner, at 907-424-6220, or at planning@cityofcordova.net; and Shelly Wade, project manager for Agnew::Beck, at 907-242-5328 or shelly@agnewbeck.com.
