Catherine M. Glasen, 91, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2019 at the Cottage in the Meadow surrounded by family. Catherine was born on March 10, 1928 in Muskegon, MI, the daughter of Claire and Pearl Curry Ackerman. Catherine met the only man in her life, Francis, at a local roller-skating rink in Muskegon. They were married in 1947. Throughout their time together they lived in Michigan, Alaska, Oregon, finally settling in Washington. They welcomed four children into their family during this time, Michael, John, Cathy and Peggy.
Catherine was passionate about many things; one, which she started later in life, was oil painting. She loved to create beautiful canvases and capture the beauty that was around her. She loved to travel with family, the highlight of which was a trip she and Francis took to Costa Rica.
Catherine is survived by her children, Michael (Linda) Glasen, Cathy (Lloyd) Campbell, and Peggy (Joel) Sutton. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and son, John Glasen.
