Wearable Art makes a comeback

Cordova Arts & Pageants celebrates 50 years

This event was revived by the all-volunteer board of Cordova Arts & Pageants, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Wearable Art has traditionally been the nonprofit’s annual membership drive. This year’s event, held Jan. 25 at the Cordova Center, was organized by Amber Wasson, Cathy Renfeldt and Jason Ellingson, emceed by Kara Johnson and featured a fashion show of ensembles made from primarily repurposed materials on the theme “Winter Disco”. A 21 and over “Ultraviolet After-Party” followed which featured black light responsive décor and dance music by DJ Chasey-j.

Fashion show designers included Danaya Hoover, Cathy Renfeldt, Amber Wasson, Kinsy Justa, Signe Fritsch, Shae Bowman and Ashley Taylor, Mazie Van Den Broek, Erin Cooper, Casey and Anita Smyke and Skyler Lewis.
