Alaska Marine Highway System officials are implementing enhanced novel coronavirus protocols at all state ferry facilities and aboard all vessels, including a reduction in the number of passengers to one-third of vessel capacity.

AMHS officials issued reminders to passengers and employees Tuesday, June 2, to follow good hygiene, social distancing recommendations and follow guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control for face coverings.

Passengers are encouraged to book travel in advance at ferryalaska.com or by calling 800-642-0066.

All passengers will have to complete a health screening form before boarding. Those who are sick or have recently had contact with an infected person will not be allowed to travel.

The CDC’s COVID-19 prevention guidance will be posted on the AMHS website, at terminals and aboard ferries. Modifications to food service spaces are being made to ensure social distancing.

Intensified cleaning of all areas, including routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces, is also in place.
