Kodiak Chamber will host U.S. Senate debate on Oct. 10

Officials with the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce have confirmed plans for a fisheries themed debate at 5 p.m. Oct. 10 between Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, and independent challenger Dr. Al Gross, a commercial fisherman and orthopedic surgeon.

For health and safety reasons, because of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the debate will take place over Zoom and will be livestreamed to kodiakchamber.com, comfishak.com and both the Kodiak Chamber and ComFishAlaska Facebook and YouTube channels, as well as Kodiak public radio station KMXT and through statewide public radio broadcasting networks. The moderator will be Rhonda McBride.

Those wishing to contribute topics or questions on fisheries related issues are welcome to send them to chamber@kodiak.org.

The chamber has traditionally hosted political debates on election years during ComFish Alaska, Kodiak’s annual fisheries forum and trade show. That event went virtual only this year because of health concerns posed by the pandemic.
