Law & Order: March 12-18

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between March 12-18. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday, March 12
4:35 a.m. A caller reported a loose dog barking on Breakwater Avenue. An officer responded and was unable to locate the dog. 9:02 a.m. An officer conducted a civil standby. 1:01 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport.

Saturday, March 13
8:15 a.m. A caller reported his vehicle had been vandalized overnight. An officer is investigating the incident. 1:04 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 1:38 p.m. A caller reported a group of children sledding down Lakeview Drive were almost run over. An officer patrolled the area but did not see anyone sledding on the road. 2:13 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport.

Sunday, March 14
12:58 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 3:48 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 6:34 p.m. A caller requested an ambulance. The ambulance responded and transported the patient to the hospital. 8:27 p.m. An officer conducted a bar check. 10:00 p.m. CCMC requested an ambulance for a medical transport to the airport. The ambulance responded and conducted the transport.

Monday, March 15
An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport. 2:16 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 3:48 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 7:22 p.m. A caller requested an ambulance for themselves. The ambulance responded and transported the patient to the hospital. 10:22 p.m. The hospital requested an ambulance for a medical transport. The ambulance responded and conducted the transport. 10:33 p.m. An officer conducted a bar check.

Tuesday, March 16
An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport. 7:22 a.m. An officer observed a parked vehicle blocking snow removal. The registered owner was contacted about moving the vehicle. 2:11 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 3:44 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 4:44 p.m. An officer picked up a dog running loose on the Copper River highway. The owner contacted CPD and the dog was returned after paying registration and impound fees.

Wednesday, March 17
An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport. 2:36 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 3:35 p.m. An individual came down to the police station to report fraudulent use of checks. An investigation is ongoing. 3:38 p.m. A caller reported a crewman had stolen some of his belongings. An officer spoke with the caller and an investigation is ongoing. 4:45 p.m. Dispatch received an automated fire alarm. Officers responded to the scene and found it to be a false alarm. 8:16 p.m. A caller reported an intoxicated individual making suicidal threats. Officers responded and transported the patient to CCMC for care. An officer conducted an after-hours security check of the 13-mile airport.

Thursday, March 18
7:42 a.m. A caller reported an unoccupied vehicle off the road. An officer responded and determined the vehicle wasn’t a traffic hazard. The owner contacted dispatch about retrieving the vehicle. 2:45 p.m. An officer provided security at the 13-mile airport. 6:03 p.m. A caller reported a dangerous driver. An officer patrolled the area and was unable to locate the vehicle.
