Hilcorp Alaska and Harvest Midstream have signed on in support of the 50th anniversary of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, joining Donlin Gold as principal sponsors of the famed mushing competition over the rugged 1,000 mile trail from Anchorage to Nome.

Hilcorp, which has operated in Alaska for nearly a decade, acquired British Petroleum’s Alaska assets in 2020, to become the largest oil and gas operator in Alaska, and now operates assets on the North Slope and in Cook Inlet.

Harvest Midstream, an affiliate of Hilcorp, provides midstream services to customers ranging from small producers to multi-national oil and gas firms throughout the Lower 48 states.

“Hilcorp is proud of our strong and growing Alaska presence, and we welcome the opportunity to partner with the Iditarod,” said Luke Saugier senior vice president of Hilcorp Alaska. “The Iditarod embodies the indomitable spirit of Alaska,” he said.

“Harvest Midstream prides itself on being innovative and hard-working and were proud to be partnering with a similar minded organization in the Iditarod” said Jason Rebrook, chief executive officer of that firm.

The ceremonial start of the Iditarod begins annually in Anchorage on the first Saturday of March, with the actual race beginning the following day in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley.
