This business spotlight was co-created by Cobilynn Rogers, Business Support for the Cordova Chamber of Commerce and Bryan Mills, owner of CDV Tech Guy.

CDV Tech Guy supports any Cordova individual, business, or nonprofit facing frustrations with technology. If you think that you could be getting more use out of your tech, you’re probably right!

What year was the business founded and why did you start the business?

I’ve been doing tech support and computer work practically all my life, starting in elementary school. I started my computer repair business in 2009 before moving to Cordova. It’s been a great way for me to serve the community with my skills while supplementing our household income.

How has the business changed over the years?

In transitioning the computer service business from Tennessee to Cordova, I found that I’m often familiar with my clients before they need my help. Living in the community I serve for the past 7 years has allowed me to build relationships with my clients, and the trust shown by repeat business is so valuable to me.

What are some new items or offerings you’re excited about?

In the past few years, remote work has exploded in popularity. For CDV Tech Guy, this means that I now have the tools to connect directly with you and your computer at your location without being physically present myself. While there are some tasks that require me to physically access (or even disassemble) your computer, many of my clients have enjoyed the convenience and speed of remote service, with the added confidence that I’m able to provide full in-person service when the situation calls for it.

Services provided are computer repair, virus removal and mitigation, computer upgrades, software installation and configuration, home and small office networking, data backup and recovery, purchasing advice and assistance,  website setup, maintenance, and servicing, user training.

How does your business impact the community of Cordova?

Technology is ubiquitous in all of our lives these days, and it can easily become overwhelming for users. Getting everything to work together can be complicated in the best of circumstances, and that’s even without anything malfunctioning or breaking! My goal with CDV Tech Guy is to help users make the most of the technology in their lives. I really enjoy improving life for Cordovans, one computer at a time.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Thank you so much to all of my current and past clients for allowing me to serve you! I look forward to many more years. If you’ve got a computer or tech question, please email me at bryan@cdvtechguy.com, and I will be happy to help you!
