The following is a summary of incidences that occurred or were reported to the Cordova Police Department May 16 through May 22, 2022. Defendant(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, May 16:

  • 9:12 a.m. An officer served papers.
  • 12:34 p.m. An officer conducted security surveillance for flight 66 at Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 4:10 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team and an officer responded to a medical call on Second Street. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 9:01 p.m. An officer served papers.
  • 10:06 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medivac transport call. The patient was transported from Cordova Community Medical Center to the airport.
  • 10:27 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medical call from the Cordova Police Station lobby. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 11:25 p.m. The Emergency Medical Services team and an officer responded to a 911 call on Nicholoff Way. The patient was transported to Cordova Community Medical Center.

Tuesday, May 17:

  • 12:40 a.m. The Emergency Medical Services team responded to a medivac transport call. The patient was transported from the airport to the Cordova Community Medical Center.

Wednesday, May 18:

  • 11:45 a.m. A local establishment reported abandoned vehicles.
  • 11:56 a.m. A resident came to the station to speak with an officer.
  • 2:55 p.m. Dispatch received a complaint of Intimidation.
  • 3:00 p.m. Dispatch received a report of an abandoned vehicle.
  • 5:25 p.m. A resident came to the station to be fingerprinted.
  • 7:00 p.m. A resident came to the station for a vehicle lockout kit.

Thursday, May 19:

  • 12:01 a.m. An officer conducted a security check at the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 12:35 a.m. An officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.
  • 1:57 a.m. An officer received a report of a group of individuals hanging out at the City Civic Center. The officer responded on foot and broke up the party.
  • 11:55 a.m. A resident baker extraordinaire dropped off two cakes the Police Department ordered for the Silent Firearms Auction.
  • 3:05 p.m. An officer responded to a 911 report of a dog running loose on Nicholoff Way. Before seizing the meandering canine, the officer stopped and frisked the dog. (It may be said, the officer stopped and pet the dog.) He then returned the adventurous pup to its human.
  • 5:20 p.m. A resident came to the station to register a pet.

Friday, May 20:

  • 1:07 a.m. An officer conducted a security check at the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 4:58 p.m. An officer issued a Citation to a motorist on Breakwater and Railroad Avenues.
  • 9:01 p.m. An officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.
  • 11:35 p.m. Two officers conducted a security check at a local establishment.
  • 11:50 p.m. Two officers conducted a security check at the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.

Saturday, May 21:

  • 12:33 a.m. An officer issued a warning to a motorist on Lake Avenue.
  • 5:07 p.m. A resident called the station to speak with an officer.
  • 8:06 p.m. An officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.
  • 11:02 p.m. An officer responded to a noise complaint at Odiak Slough.
  • 11:44 p.m. An officer conducted a security check at the City Civic Center.

Sunday, May 22:

  • 12:22 a.m. An officer issued a warning to a motorist on Railroad Avenue.
  • 12:34 a.m. An officer conducted a security check at the Merle K. Mudhole Smith Airport.
  • 1:25 a.m. An officer issued a warning sticker on a vehicle on First Street.
  • 11:41 a.m. Dispatch received a report of a reckless driver.
  • 1:21 p.m. Two officers and the Evidence Custodian reported to City Civic Center for the Silent Firearms Auction.
  • 1:36 p.m. A resident reported a controlled burn.
  • 4:00 p.m. The Cordova Police Department would like to say a very special, “Thank you!” to Cordova Residents for their support by attending the Silent Firearms Auction!
  • 6:27 p.m. An officer issued a warning each to three motorcyclists.
  • 6:47 p.m. An officer conducted a security check at a local establishment.
