Updates from the Cordova Police Department – 12-18-22 – 1-1-23

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 12-18-22 thru 01-01-22. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

DECEMBER 19, MONDAY: 

  • At 1:57 a.m. Daniel McIntosh, age 32, was arrested for DUI.
  • At 9:06 p.m. Jackson Perry, age 21, for assault and disorderly conduct.

DECEMBER 20, TUESDAY:

  • At 3:57 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 4:24 p.m. a 2-vehicle collision was reported on the corner of Whitshed Road and the Copper River Highway. No injuries were sustained.

DECEMBER 21, WEDNESDAY: 

  • At 10:42 a.m. Connor Gillespie, age 30, was arrested and taken into custody on the charge of 4th degree assault.

DECEMBER 22, THURSDAY: 

  • At 1:25 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 2:00 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the ferry terminal.
  • At 2:15 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the PWSSC.
  • At 8:19 p.m. an officer conducted a security check at a local business.
  • At 8:51 p.m. an officer conducted a security check at a local bar.
  • At 11:46 p.m. an officer conducted a security check at the ferry terminal.

DECEMBER 23, FRIDAY:

  • At 12:21 p.m. a caller reported that Orca Road was beginning to wash away. DOT was advised.

DECEMBER 24, SATURDAY:  

  • At 1:26 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.

DECEMBER 25, SUNDAY:  

  • Nothing to report. Merry Christmas.

DECEMBER 26, MONDAY:

  • At 12:49 a.m. an officer assisted a motorist that was stuck in the snow near the high school.
  • AT 1:13 p.m. a caller reported sliding off the road on Power Creek. He and the vehicle are OK, but the roads need sanding.
  • At 8:26 p.m. an officer conducted a security check at a local restaurant/bar.

DECEMBER 27, TUESDAY:

  • At 12:07 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.

DECEMBER 28, WEDNESDAY:

  • At 12:11 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.

DECEMBER 29, THURSDAY:

  • At 2:07 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 2:40 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the ferry terminal.
  • At 2:25 p.m. a caller reported that her vehicle had been hit while she was at work. A report was started.

DECEMBER 30, FRIDAY:

  • At 1:35 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 9:14 Tim Miller, age 61, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

DECEMBER 31, SATURDAY:

  • At 12:57 a.m. Connor Gillespie, age 29, was arrested for violating his conditions of release.
  • At 10:30 p.m. an officer conducted a security check at a local restaurant/bar.

JANUARY 01, SUNDAY:

  • At 2:56 a.m. an officer conducted a security check at the 13-mile airport.
  • At 11:31 a.m. a caller reported that she had lost an envelope with a large amount of cash in it.
  • At 6:34 a caller reported there was a large rock slide on Whitshed road near Nicholi Creek. DOT was notified and marked the area.

DMV HOURS:  Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave.  Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations, citations.
